On Thursday, May 16th CRECE researchers met in Puerto Rico to visit 4 different Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and clinics where participants for the PROTECT, CRECE, & ECHO Cohorts are recruited. PROTECT/CRECE/ECHO researchers and staff participated in the clinic visits, including Akram Alshawabkeh, José Cordero, Anne Magrath, Ingrid Padilla, Carmen Vélez Vega, John Meeker, Michael Welton, Emily Zimmerman, Gredia Huerta-Montañez, and Héctor Torres. Sites visited include Morovis Community Health Center Visit (FQHC), Prymed: Ciales Community Health Center (FQHC), Camuy Health Services, Inc. (FQHC), and Delta OBGyn (Prenatal Clinic).
The purpose of the clinic visits were to engage with our community partners, answer questions, provide insight into our current research findings, and review upcoming projects and plans for the future. The team also distributed brochures and handouts on reproductive health and preliminary results from the studies, which are linked below. The visits allowed the team to further build and develop our relationships with the clinics and the community partners in Puerto Rico. We are thankful for their collaboration and support.
