CRECE researchers Dr. Carmen M. Vélez Vega and Zaira Rosario presented in the 2018 International Conference on Children’s Health and the Environment, better known as INCHES 2018.

Dr. Vélez Vega presented on the work of PROTECT’s Community Engagement Core, while Zaira Rosario presented on the research conducted under CRECE. Dr. Vélez Vega was also part of the committee that worked on the Seoul Pledge of Action for Children’s Health and the Environment. This document was endorsed by all conference attendees and representatives for global organizations for children’s rights, including UNICEF, WHO, and others. The pledge includes a consensus on the dangerous effects of environmental exposures on children as a particularly vulnerable sector of our populations.

The work presented by the CRECE team was very well received, and they had the opportunity to network with researchers from around the world and from the US.
